The Compliance Specialist – Privacy (the “Privacy Specialist”) reports to the Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) and is a member of the Compliance Team.  The Privacy Specialist is an integral part of the Fast Pace Health Compliance Program, specially, the auditing and monitoring function.  As part of the auditing and monitoring function, the Privacy Specialist reviews and investigates events, reports and incidents involving health information and data privacy.  This includes the performance of health information and data privacy breach investigations and assessments, and the requisite reporting of the same, as appropriate, to state and federal authorities.  The Privacy Specialist assists the CCO in generating requisite health information and data privacy metrics and reports for senior management, the Compliance Committee and the Fast Pace Health Board.  The Privacy Specialist identifies training and education opportunities, aides in the preparation of training and education materials, coordinates on correction plans with the CCO, provides direct coaching, training and education to Fast Pace Health providers to help improve data privacy.  The Privacy Specialist assists the CCO in the development and maintenance of health information data policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, as applicable.  The Privacy Specialist also collaborates with the Director, Information Security on data security matters, as appropriate. The Privacy Specialists helps address compliance inquiries from employees and takes on other Compliance projects as reasonably requested.
The Privacy Specialist will generally work remotely and must be able to work collaboratively with the CCO and a multidisciplinary Compliance Team. The Privacy Specialist demonstrates an advanced level of health information and data privacy knowledge, technical competence, sound judgment, professional communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsible for professional development and competency validation.  The Privacy Specialist will maintain and promote positive relationships with co-workers, patients, local community members and members of the professional community.
Essential Functions :
Promote the five principles of Fast Pace: Communication, Teamwork, Empowerment, Quality of Care, and Friendliness.
Provide exemplary customer service to co-workers, patients, and visitors.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including compliance & corporate staff, supervising physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, nurses, clinical staff, and other support staff.
Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance by completing all mandatory compliance training.
Investigates data privacy events and incidents. Identifies opportunities for improving the health information data privacy and reports the same to the CCO.
Identifies training and education opportunities and reports the same to the CCO.
Coordinates on correction plans with the CCO and provides direct coaching, training and education to Fast Pace Health providers to help improve the privacy of health information and data.
Helps address data privacy and compliance inquiries from employees.
Aides in the preparation of training and education materials.
Aides in the identification of trends found in connection with auditing and monitoring activities, reports/presents the same to the CCO, and aides in the preparation/execution of corrective action plans.

Ability to comply with Company standards of operations.
The ability to promote and maintain a respectful culture of employee, employer and business confidentiality.
Education:
RN or another similar clinical practitioner strongly preferred; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Required Certification in Health Care Privacy Compliance from the HCCA or willingness to obtain one of the foregoing during the first year of employment.
AND
Experience:
Preferred at least 5 years of data privacy experience in a health care setting.
At least 1 year of experience working autonomously.
Family Nurse Practitioner License, Physicians Assistant License, Registered Nurse (RN) – State or Compact License
