About the role:

As a Data Protection Engineer on TQL’s IT Infrastructure Team, you will be joining a close-knit group of Network and System Engineers responsible for our $8.8B organization’s servers. Our System Engineers design, install, maintain, repair and upgrade server and storage systems, including SAN storage, server hardware and software.

What you’ll be doing: Recommend, design, and implement technical data protection solutions by evaluating business requirements
Proactively identify ways to improve and optimize data protection across the organization
Diagnose and fix problems while taking pre-emptive actions to prevent future backup system issues
Forecast storage utilization metrics and recommend appropriate storage expansions when necessary
Ensure backups and replicated backups run on the correct systems and meet SLA requirements
Ensure all data can be recovered in a timely fashion
Manage OS and patch upgrades within the change management process guidelines
Maintain a 99.9%+ system uptime
Responsible for overall Cohesity system integrity including security, access, and appropriate response to system alerts and notifications
Present data protection solutions to executive leadership and share best practices with peers
What you need: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
7+ years’ experience maintaining a daily data protection solution in a production environment
Experience with Cohesity is required (Experience with Zerto a plus)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable operating in a fast paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
