Data Protection Specialist Reigate (Hybrid 40% office based) Role Overview Reporting to the Data Protection Officer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an appropriate and resilient risk management framework for the business, specifically through the direction and oversight of the Group’s arrangements for the compliant management of data protection laws, regulations, and internal policies and standards requirements.As the Data Protection Specialist you will be developing and maintaining an appropriate framework to ensure that the Group’s Data Protection risks are managed to a level within the established Group’s risk appetite and in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities * Following up and investigating data protection related breach events and regulatory and policy breaches* Building and maintaining relationships around the business to promote understanding of and adherence to data protection policies and standards.* Helping to coordinate and train the Data Protection Champions network.* Supporting on projects, providing Data Protection knowledge and guidance* Maintaining Records of Processing Activities and Privacy policy documents Key Skills & Experience * An externally recognised relevant professional/industry certification and membership is desirable.* Relevant experience in data protection specialist roles in financial services* Strong relationship management, interpersonal skills, and subject-matter expert knowledge* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver clearly to a variety of audiences.* Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse activity role.
