Summary The Office of Enforcement Operations (OEO) provides investigative & prosecutorial support, legal advice, and statutorily required review and approval in almost 40 distinct subject areas. OEO oversees the use of the most sophisticated investigative tools of the federal government, including electronic surveillance, the Federal Witness Security Program, media subpoenas, and witness immunity requests. OEO provides legal advice to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on these programs. Responsibilities As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy Analyst), your duties will include: Analyzing privacy program effectiveness, efficiency, and results. Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and/or practices to improve, update, and meet Department and Federal privacy and program requirements. Providing recommendations on policy relating to the privacy compliance program. Providing policy advice, guidance, and training concerning managing privacy risks. Supporting the Chief of the Unit in handling the Division’s response to personally identifiable information (PII). Developing and composing responses to Department, General Accounting Office, Office of Inspector General, Congressional, and other inquiries. Drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and processing Privacy Act System of Records Notices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include: analyzing privacy program effectiveness; providing guidance to personnel on privacy programs; drafting, reviewing, analyzing, or processing Privacy Act System of Records Notices; and assessing privacy risks in systems. To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include: leading projects related to privacy compliance and use of personally identifiable information; serving as the point of contact for a privacy compliance program; providing training to personnel related to data breaches and the associated privacy risk assessments; and managing and handling Paperwork Reduction Act and Social Security Number Fraud Prevention Act related requirements. Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration by the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no education requirement for this position.
