We have a full-time permanent opportunity to join our Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance team as Manager, Privacy Compliance. In this newly-created role you will be responsible for ensuring that QIC complies with all relevant data privacy laws, regulations and policies.
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, you will drive and enhance QIC’s approach to the management and mitigation of data protection risks and obligations in the countries in which we operate (including Australia, the USA, UK, Luxembourg and Singapore).
In addition to this, you will also be responsible for:
Developing frameworks, programs, controls, and systems to enable QIC to meet its data privacy obligations.
Applying your extensive experience of privacy and data protection regulations by working collaboratively with QIC’s investment teams, supporting business units and QIC’s privacy regulators to ensure compliance and mitigate risk across the company
Identifying and managing data privacy-related regulatory risks associated with QIC’s international business activities
Leading the response to privacy-related questions and complaints and liaise with QIC’s privacy regulators.
Keeping abreast of privacy and data protection regulations and providing training and advice to the business to inform them on relevant matters.
Developing effective data analytics and reporting on QIC’s data privacy compliance activities.
About you
You will have significant experience working in a regulatory and / or compliance role within investment management or the broader financial services industry and will have detailed knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations and best practices. You will be degree qualified (preferably in Law).
You will also have:
Experience developing and enhancing an effective privacy culture in another large, complex organisation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, analyse and proactively resolve problems that impact QIC’s risk and compliance obligations.
The ability to develop collaborative working relationships with others and share knowledge across divisions.
An ability to translate technical legal and regulatory requirements into efficient and easily understood business processes.
Strong training, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong persuasion and influencing capabilities;
The ability to work independently and manage multiple issues simultaneously; and
A passion for developing a deep understanding of the business and the industries in which QIC operates – constantly seeking to learn, understand and improve.
