The Global Privacy Office is responsible for the identification, articulation and management of privacy risks across our businesses in support of business strategies. We deliver this through a combination of day-to-day privacy advice, guidance and support to the businesses and the implementation of a successful Global Privacy Program comprising varying privacy related projects of different sizes and complexity and across singular and multiple jurisdictions, designed to manage and reduce privacy risk exposure to an acceptable level.

The Global Privacy Program comprises foundational projects to set the team up for ongoing success, tactical projects to put short-term remediation efforts in place and strategic projects, designed to be long term solutions to reduce privacy risk exposure in a particular area. On an annual basis, we prioritize the Program activities to address the current business strategies, reduce our highest privacy risk exposures and deliver a more coordinated and efficient global approach to privacy.

Projects will include, but not be limited to, the identification and implementation of response to emerging and amendments to global privacy and cybersecurity laws, implementing and improving processes, delivering cost and operational efficiency, supporting complex data incidents and cross privacy and security initiatives.

This role will report to the Global Privacy Program Manager and will support the Global Privacy Office on varying Privacy Program Projects and more generally on other projects. The role is integral to Gallagher to deliver lasting change, which meets our business objectives, our strategy, reduces our risk exposure, and in a manner, that provides measurable benefit.

What You’ll Do:

As a Business Analyst you will conduct analysis that helps to develop solutions for projects and to introduce any changes to processes and systems ensuring that they can be embedded into our business in a controlled way.

What the role will involve:
Understand the business problem and primary objectives of new projects, challenging and validating the key business objectives and scope;
Identify key stakeholders and work with them, using a variety of techniques and methodologies to elicit and validate requirements;
Create business and functional requirements within use cases, coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs;
Document functional and non-functional requirements in a manner that supports the efficient translation of these into solution / technical requirements for the Privacy, Business and Technology teams;
Where required, support the analysis and creation of data flows to ensure the integrity of data within final solutions;
Document and analyse as-is processes, identifying and communicating recommendations for improvement;
Through feedback and alignment with business requirements and target operating models, design, validate and document efficient to-be business processes, understanding and identifying potential control points;
Plan, design and deliver the handover of business processes to the functional owner in a manner that allows for continuous improvement;
Contribute to the evaluation of potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open source components to ensure they meet business requirements;
Assess the impact of any changes that will be made to people, process and systems;
Identify potential training needs and support the design and creation of any training material required;
Support the design of the change management journey, and help to identify key metrics & measures that can support adoption through the transition phase;
Design and support the management of User Acceptance Testing, providing input into resolution of any fixes;
Contribute to the creation and baselining of the benefits plan through the understanding of key performance indicators that support the business objective;
Plan and manage small projects or work-streams within a larger project and contribute to the identification of risks and issues, priorities and approach;
Manage sensitive information and data – carefully mitigating risks/issues where possible;
Assist Project Managers, the Global Privacy Program Manager and the Global Privacy Office as required, facilitating and documenting working groups where required, resolving team conflicts and escalating key risks and issued to the Project / Programme Manager;
Act as a ‘role model’ to Business Analysts within the Project Teams and foster relationships with stakeholders outside the team;
Actively keep abreast of industry practices and contribute to maintaining a high performing change function within the Privacy team and more broadly;
Comply with policies and procedures;
Take part in other non BA activities within the Team e.g. engagement and charity events
Complete all mandatory training within prescribed timeframes and achieve the minimum continuous professional development (CPD) hours within the year.
Skills / Experience You Will Need: Educated to degree level or equivalent
Formal Business Analysis qualification or membership of relevant professional body CBAP, BCS etc
Technical Knowledge Knowledge of the BABOK or other formal business analysis guide essential
Proficient knowledge of MS Office software including Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Scrum and/or Lean software development desirable
Knowledge of general insurance products, services, and classes of insurance is essential, along with a solid understanding of underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk in the insurance industry
Experience & Skills Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in English effectively with all levels of the Company, including senior levels
Excellent presentation of business and options analysis, approaches and tactics in a useable way for the business
Requirements elicitation, fit/gap analysis and preparation of functional design documents
Experience identifying opportunities for process and system improvements either within existing designs or by adopting new functionalities in the process/software
Ability to confidently manage and sustain a key relationship network within a project environment
Ability to extract and piece together required learning from a range of different opportunities and sources
Experience working in matrix teams across multiple jurisdictions, including with third party suppliers
Both commercial and customer minded – able to conduct analysis that delivers customer and outcome focussed solutions
High attention to detail and comfortable handling large datasets
Proactive time management and deadline driven, setting priorities in order to achieve time-bound outcomes
Ability to lead and motivate others through good people management skills
Creative problem-solver with a positive, can-do attitude
Experience in managing or formal mentoring of more junior Business Analysts is an advantage, but not required
