Lucid is seeking an experienced data privacy / protection professional to join our legal team in the Netherlands.  This role will initially help develop and Lucid’s Privacy & Data Security Program for EMEA, and later be slated to transition to the role of Data Protection Officer of Europe in 9 – 18 months. This position will functionally report to Lucid’s Privacy Officer, and work closely with groups across the company, including Product Engineering, IT, Information Security and Human Resources to help ensure that Lucid’s Privacy & Data Security Program meets or exceeds applicable legal standards (e.g., GDPR, e-Privacy Directive). 

 

The Role:

 

  • Key European leader helping to create robust data protection structures and processes in the European market and elsewhere.
  • Implementing measures to manage data use in compliance with the GDPR and the e-Privacy directive, including implementing templates for data collection and assisting with data mapping.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Privacy & Data Security team for Europe
  • Collaborating to review Lucid’s data collection and processing practices to ensure compliance with data privacy laws, and where necessary, advising on and monitoring data protection privacy impact assessments.
  • Reviewing vendor contracts (including EU standard contractual clauses) and consumer consents.
  • Revising and improving privacy and cookie notices / policies, data processing agreements, and processes
  • Developing and delivering privacy training to internal stakeholders and collaborating with the Information Security functions to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues and providing training on the subject matter.
  • Collaborating with the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets and exports from within markets and helping maintain a data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claims or notifications.

    Who You Are:

     

  • 4 years’ experience in data protection topics in Europe with strong knowledge of EU data privacy and data protection regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of information technology and data management systems required.
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
  • Fluent English language skills
  • German, Dutch or French language skills preferred
  • Successful experience working, collaborating, and establishing credibility and relationships with senior leadership, colleagues, and clients throughout the world
  • Demonstrated success working with internal audit, external auditors, outside consultants, and Legal
  • Demonstrated experience executing large-scale projects
  • CIPP/E or CCEP certification highly sought
