Our client, a boutique privacy consulting firm that prides itself on delivering superior service to its clients, is searching for a collaborative, intuitive, and passionate Privacy Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role as an independent contributor working on existing client portfolios and will research solutions to help methodically grow the business. The Privacy Consultant will be a detail-oriented professional with a passion for networking and learning and must be experienced in all aspects of consulting, including engagement delivery, proposal writing, budgeting, and project management. Consulting experience in data privacy or a related field (e.g., Regulatory Compliance, Governance, Enterprise Risk Management, Cybersecurity), in addition to a strong understanding of and/or experience applying principle-based privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA and/or GDPR) is highly desired. This is a great role for candidates who have major consulting firm experience and want to retain the quality of clients and work, but with a higher quality of life, in a positive, collaborative setting.

Job Description: 

  • Delivering on all aspects of engagements including proposal writing, budgeting, project management, and client relationship management
  • Types of engagements include: Program design and implementation, compliance assessments, data inventory, and data lifecycle mapping, management software implementation, impact assessments, notices, breach response plans, training, and awareness
  • Actively cultivate a network of clients, potential clients, and partners (e.g., law firms, technology vendors, consultants, and firms)
  • Continuing to grow a personal brand through attending conferences, crafting, marketing, delivering webinars, panels, podcasts, blogs, and articles
  • Staying up to speed on what’s happening in the world of privacy through discussion forums, industry associations, and think tanks 

Qualifications: 

  • Some consulting experience is preferred in privacy or a related field (e.g. regulatory compliance, governance, enterprise risk management, cybersecurity)
  • Experience with end-to-end project management is desired
  • Strong understanding of and/or experience applying principles-based privacy legislation including PIPEDA and/or GDPR
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Extensive experience in client relationship management
  • Advanced/expert knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Committed to actively supporting and empowering people who are underrepresented
  • Comfortable learning from mistakes
  • Motivated and ready to deliver privacy consulting engagements/an opportunity to grow
  • A key collaborator, believing there is plenty of success to go around and that relationships are more important than revenue

Expected salary for this role is $95,000 – $165,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
