The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a supervisory level position that forms and manages the Information Security and Privacy Office (a strategic office responsible for policies, standards, procedures and oversight of security operations management for all government agencies within the U.S. Virgin Islands). The position will report to the Territory's Director/Chief Information Technology Officer (Director/CITO).
The CISO provides leadership and oversight in the strategic planning, execution and assessment of all territory-wide cyber security strategies, policies, procedures and guides practices to be implemented by all government-wide agencies. The CISO will establish and maintain a comprehensive territory-wide information security program ensuring that all Government information assets within the territory are adequately protected against current/future internal and external threats. This position is responsible for identifying, directing, coordinating, evaluating and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements while enabling the Territory to develop an anticipatory response to minimize information security risks.
