
This position is the Clinical Applications Coordinator of Clinical Informatics Department, Professional Services Division at Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. This position coordinates and administers, all Information Technology Health Services and serves as a specialist/integrator in the implementation and ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications used in the Hospital and clinic settings. The incumbent reports to the Director of Professional Services.

Duties:
This position is being re-advertised to solicit additional applications. Applicants who applied previously need not reapply unless submitting updated and/or missing information. Responsible for the implementation, training and support of multi-services software packages that automate the capture of clinical encounter information and retrieve information for the Service Unit. Coordinate and provides trainings to end users on current software applications, new features and emphasizes timeliness, accuracy, security and the importance of using clinical application. Promotes an awareness of the importance of data validity, data security and complies with all relevant Privacy Acts, HIPPA Regulations and computer related policies and procedures. Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow and make a determination what procedural issues verses system/application deficiencies exist. Work with various departments in refining and evaluation of existing health-related software modulus and program. Coordinate with IRM staff and other application coordinators to implement integrated package, resolve conflicts, provide secondary support on related software modules, and insure smooth operations.
Qualifications:

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree: major study in academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0601-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include: Designing/validating/testing clinical databases; generating database queries based on testing phases; and monitoring work productivity or quality of ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. OR Must have at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR Possess a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the GS-9 grade level (2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree) may be combined with experience. Computing Education and Experience: When combining education with experience, first determine your total qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then determine your experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Time In Grade
