We are currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and intuitive Information Security Engineer.

Reporting directly to the Information Security Manager, the Information Security Engineer designs and implements IT security systems to protect the Commission’s computer networks from cyber attacks. You will serve as the divisional expert in IT security, monitoring computer networks for security issues, installing security software, and documenting all security issues or breaches you find. Work involves developing and recommending standards, policies and procedures, and developing functional area goals and objectives.

An ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of IT systems and be current on the newest developments in security standards and authentication protocols, plus solutions meeting best practice requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing stage one triage and definition of security events, providing 24/7/365 support in addressing imminent threats as directed by the Information Security Manager. The Information Security Engineer must follow standard procedures for detection, definition, classification, and reporting of incidents.

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minimum of 3 years of experience in information security. You need to be proficient in industry standard operating systems with experience in penetration testing and techniques and installing security software and documenting security issues. In addition, you will have excellent written and oral communication skills and understand patch management and firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts.
